Basics of Lean Workshop (8hrs) with Simulation
Offered in English and Spanish
Workshop overview:
Basics of Lean is a hands-on workshop that guides participants through the transition from a traditional manufacturing environment to a lean, world-class enterprise. By introducing and implementing Lean principles, your company can improve efficiencies, reduce waste, increase profitability and provide customers with high quality products at competitive prices. The end results are well worth your investment. Participants in our workshops have reported significant results after implementing Lean principles in their own businesses, including:
• 90% reduction in lead times
• 85% reduction in work-in-process
• 85% improvement in quality
• 50% increase in productivity
• 50% reduction in floor space
What to expect:
Immerse yourself in an exciting scenario, as suppliers, customers and/or employees of a simulated electronic assembly factory. During the hands-on simulation you will apply Lean concepts, such as standardized work, visual signals, batch-size reduction and pull systems – designed to give you new tools to improve your business. We begin by manufacturing products in a chaotic, traditional manufacturing firm. The Lean principles are applied to the results of your first simulation. For the remainder of the day, we revisit the manufacturing environment and use the Lean techniques that have been presented. You will learn the principles of Lean Manufacturing and how to apply them to your company. You will be able to identify the eight areas of waste and understand how to eliminate them, and you will understand how applying Lean principles can improve your bottom line.
Who should attend:
Business and manufacturing leaders and anyone who would like to understand the basic Lean concepts and start on the road to Lean Manufacturing. Companies that are interested in reducing their inventory, improving their overall quality, improving their on-time delivery performance, improving their productivity, and lowering their manufacturing costs.
The workshop can accommodate 15-18 attendees.
